![]() If you have any thoughts about this, or different experiences with the sights, I'll be interested to read them.Escape from Tarkov is a hardcore and realistic online first-person action RPG/Simulator with MMO features and a story-driven walkthrough currently in development by Battlestate Games. ![]() I feel like this is not really intended, and I otherwise really like the deltapoint (and the HAMR, which is only compatible with it), so I hope this will be fixed at some point (IF it's not intended). With that in mind, the PK-06 dot is a bit too blurred, and the T-1/Romeo obscure quite a bit by being too thick, so my personal winner for now is the RMR, though I'll probably play around with the T-1 and Romeo and consider them as well. The other 3 are all approximately on the same line. (Same link as TLDR) ConclusionĪs you can see, the results were quite interesting - the Deltapoint is way off compared to the others, the FF3 is quite off as well (along with having a huge blurry stain instead of a dot that seems pretty clumsy to use). T-1 (and Romeo - identical results, though Romeo is not included on the picture - you'll have to take my word for it or test it yourself)Īnd here's a picture of all the sights used, with their respective bullet impact right above them in the background. Here's all 5 pictures, one for each sight, after shooting at the shoulder line (these are kind of bad, but I include them for the sake of completeness). ![]() The bullet impacts as seen here left to right belong to the sights in the following order:DP, T-1, RMR, FF3, PK-06 30mm, and the sights were mounted at the middle position (closer to the player's eye), with all sights zeroed at the default 25, and using hold breath at ~max. ![]() I stood as close to the shooting range table as possible, shooting at the second closest dummy from there.īefore recording the results, I repeated the test with multiple shots at slightly different distances and spots in the shooting range, with all the results being in line with the results presented below (with a game restart to remove existing bullet impacts and a single shot per sight to avoid visual clutter - the accuracy seemed accurately representative of the previous results to me).įor completeness, the ring mount I used was the Burris AR-P.E.P.R. The distance from which I shot and the dummy at which I shot can be seen on the individual per-sight pictures below. I remained at the same exact position, not moving between switching sights. I tried to aim at the same vertical line, that being the shoulder line of the dummy. My short low-quality makeshift test consisted of shooting an M1A in this configuration, using 5 compatible compact sights on top (The Romeo is not included, because honestly, I forgot, but I did do an additional test for completeness where I compared the T-1 and the Romeo, and the results seemed identical between the two, or at least with no significant differences). However, since using the canted sight results in so much of your vision being blocked by the main scope, I decided that before I write off the Deltapoint and all top-of-ring-mounted sights, I'll give all of them a test run first, and I decided to share the results here. ContextĪfter playing with the HAMR sight with a Deltapoint mounted on top for a couple of raids, I noticed that at closer ranges, using the Deltapoint resulted in my shots hitting way too low relative to where I aim (WAY too low).Īt first, I assumed that this was simply the result of height over bore, and thought about switching to a different long-range scope and a canted sight for CQB instead. This might be nothing new for many veterans here, but some might find it useful, so here goes nothing. TLDR If you're mounting a compact sight on top of another sight, watch out - some "undershoot" your target at close ranges quite a bit more than others, especially the Deltapoint.
